Product Description
Human M-phase phosphoprotein 8 (MPHOSPH8) ELISA Kit | KTE61564 | Abbkine
Application: This Human M-phase phosphoprotein 8 (MPHOSPH8) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate MPHOSPH8 in samples. An antibody specific for MPHOSPH8 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyMPHOSPH8 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for MPHOSPH8 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MPHOSPH8 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Detection Method: Colorimetric

Background: MPHOSPH8 (M-Phase Phosphoprotein 8) is a Protein Coding gene. GO annotations related to this gene include methylated histone binding. Heterochromatin component that specifically recognizes and binds methylated Lys-9 of histone H3 (H3K9me) and promotes recruitment of proteins that mediate epigenetic repression (PubMed:20871592, PubMed:26022416) . Mediates recruitment of the HUSH complex to H3K9me3 sites: the HUSH complex is recruited to genomic loci rich in H3K9me3 and is probably required to maintain transcriptional silencing by promoting recruitment of SETDB1, a histone methyltransferase that mediates further deposition of H3K9me3 (PubMed:26022416) . Binds H3K9me and promotes DNA methylation by recruiting DNMT3A to target CpG sites; these can be situated within the coding region of the gene. Mediates down-regulation of CDH1 expression.
