Product Description
Human Protein kinase C alpha type (PRKCA) ELISA Kit | KTE61149 | Abbkine
Application: This Human Protein kinase C alpha type (PRKCA) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate PRKCA in samples. An antibody specific for PRKCA has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyPRKCA present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for PRKCA is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of PRKCA bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Detection Method: Colorimetric

Background: PRKCA, refers to both a human gene and the protein that is encoded by it. Protein kinase C (PKC) is a family of serine- and threonine-specific protein kinases that can be activated by calcium and the second messenger diacylglycerol. PKC family members phosphorylate a wide variety of protein targets and are known to be involved in diverse cellular signaling pathways. PKC family members also serve as major receptors for phorbol esters, a class of tumor promoters. Each member of the PKC family has a specific expression profile and is believed to play a distinct role in cells. The protein encoded by this gene is one of the PKC family members. This kinase has been reported to play roles in many different cellular processes, such as cell adhesion, cell transformation, cell cycle checkpoint, and cell volume control.
