Test Principale: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate ABCD3 in samples. An antibody specific for ABCD3 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyABCD3 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for ABCD3 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of ABCD3 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Product Overview: ATP-binding cassette sub-family D member 3 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ABCD3 gene.The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White) . This protein is a member of the ALD subfamily, which is involved in peroxisomal import of fatty acids and/or fatty acyl-CoAs in the organelle. All known peroxisomal ABC transporters are half transporters which require a partner half transporter molecule to form a functional homodimeric or heterodimeric transporter. This peroxisomal membrane protein likely plays an important role in peroxisome biogenesis.
