Product Description
Biovision | BMP-2 (Human) ELISA Kit | E5086-100
Description: Bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2) belongs to the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) signaling family and has a very broad biological role in development. It plays an essential role in many developmental processes, including cardiogenesis, neurogenesis, and osteogenesis. BMP-2 is involved in the hedgehog pathway, TGF beta signaling pathway, and in cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction. It initiates the canonical BMP signaling cascade by associating with type I receptor BMPR1A and type II receptor BMPR2. BMPs are essential during tissue repair and remodeling after injury. BMP-2 also plays an important role in cardiac morphogenesis. BMP-2 is expressed in a variety of tissues such as lung, spleen, brain, liver, prostate ovary, and small intestine. BioVision’s BMP-2 (Human) ELISA Kit is used for the quantitative detection of BMP-2 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. It is based on the principle of sich ELISA. The capture antibody is pre-coated on 96-well plates. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody are added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin is added and unbound conjugates are washed away with wash buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected using TMB-substrate. Finally, an acidic stop solution terminates the enzymatic reaction. The color developed is directly proportional to the amount of BMP-2 in the sample.
