Product Description
Biovision | IL-29 (Human) ELISA Kit | E5064-100
Description: Interleukin-29 (IL-29) belongs to the interferon λ family. It is produced predominantly by maturing dendritic cells and macrophages. It has been implicated in numerous immunological responses and has shown antiviral activity similar to the Type I interferons. It plays a critical role in the antiviral host defense, predominantly in the epithelial tissues. IL-29 also acts as a ligand for the heterodimeric class II cytokine receptor composed of IL10RB and IFNLR1, and receptor engagement leads to the activation of the JAK/STAT signaling pathway resulting in the expression of IFN-stimulated genes (ISG), which mediate the antiviral state. IL-29 exhibits antiviral effects by inducing similar signaling pathways as type I interferons. IL-29 shows protective antitumor effects in many cases such as skin, lung, colorectal or hepatocellular cancer and also involved in the pathogenesis of the autoimmune diseases. BioVision’s IL-29 (Human) ELISAt is used for the quantitative detection of IL-29 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. It is based on the principle of sandwich ELISA. The capture antibody is pre-coated on 96-well plates. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody are added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin is added and unbound conjugates are washed away with wash buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected using TMB-substrate. Finally, an acidic stop solution terminates the enzymatic reaction. The color developed is directly proportional to the amount of IL-29 in the sample.
