Biovision | E5037 | Angiopoietin-2 (Human) ELISA Kit DataSheet
Angiopoietin-2 (ANG2) belongs to the family of vascular growth factors that play a role in embryonic and postnatal angiogenesis. ANG2 promotes cell death and disrupts vascularization. It is involved in various physiological processes and the deregulation of its expression is characteristic of several diseases. Angiopoietin-2 has been proposed as a biomarker in different cancer types. Angiopoietin-2 expression levels are proportional to the cancer stage for both small and non-small cell lung cancers. It has been also implicated to play a role in hepatocellular and endometrial carcinoma-induced angiogenesis. Angiopoietin-2 as a marker of endothelial activation is a good predictor factor for intensive care unit admission of COVID-19 patients. BioVision’s Angiopoietin-2 (Human) ELISA Kit is used for the quantitative detection of ANG2 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. It is based on the principle of sandwich ELISA. The capture antibody is pre-coated on 96-well plates. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody are added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin is added and unbound conjugates are washed away with wash buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected using TMB-substrate. Finally, an acidic stop solution terminates the enzymatic reaction. The color developed is directly proportional to the amount of ANG2 in the sample.
