Product Description
Biovision | E5034 | MIF (Human) ELISA Kit DataSheet
MIF (Macrophage migration inhibitory factor) is a pleiotropic inflammatory cytokine with upstream regulatory roles in innate and adaptive immunity. MIF is an integral component of the host antimicrobial alarm system and stress response that promotes the pro-inflammatory functions of immune cells. It is implicated in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases including rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. MIF also promotes tumorigenesis and tumor progression and plays a critical role in various kinds of human cancer including head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. BioVision’s MIF (Human) ELISA Kit is used for the quantitative detection of MIF in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. It is based on the principle of sandwich ELISA. The capture antibody is pre-coated on 96-well plates. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody are added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin is added and unbound conjugates are washed away with wash buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected using TMB-substrate. Finally, an acidic stop solution terminates the enzymatic reaction. The color developed is directly proportional to the amount of MIF in the sample.
