Product Description
Biovision | E5046 | TFPI (Human) ELISA Kit DataSheet
Tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI) also known as Extrinsic pathway inhibitor (EPI) is a glycoprotein and a multivalent Kunitz-type serine protease inhibitor. It regulates the tissue factor (TF)-dependent pathway of blood coagulation. It inhibits Factor Xa which subsequently inhibits the FVIIa-tissue factor complex. It is increased in patients with some solid tumors, septicaemia and disseminated intravascular coagulation. BioVision’s TFPI (Human) ELISA Kit is used for the quantitative detection of TFPI in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. It is based on the principle of sandwich ELISA. The capture antibody is pre-coated on 96-well plates. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody are added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin is added and unbound conjugates are washed away with wash buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected using TMB-substrate. Finally, an acidic stop solution terminates the enzymatic reaction. The color developed is directly proportional to the amount of TFPI in the sample.
