Product Category: Polyclonal Antibodies
Host: Rabbit
Species Reactivity: H, Ha, M
Specificity: This RN185 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 88-117 amino acids from the Central region of human RN185.
Cellular Localisation: Mitochondrion outer membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein
Molecular Weight: 20459
Clone: Polyclonal
Gene Name: RNF185
Gene ID: 91445
Function: E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that regulates selective mitochondrial autophagy by mediating 'Lys-63'-linked polyubiquitination of BNIP1 (PubMed:21931693) . Acts in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) - associated degradation (ERAD) pathway, which targets misfolded proteins that accumulate in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) for ubiquitination and subsequent proteasome-mediated degradation (PubMed:27485036) . Protects cells from ER stress-induced apoptosis (PubMed:27485036) . Responsible for the cotranslational ubiquitination and degradation of CFTR in the ERAD pathway (PubMed:24019521) . Preferentially associates with the E2 enzymes UBE2J1 and UBE2J2 (PubMed:24019521) .
Summary: Tissue Location: Ubiquitously expressed.
Form: Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.
Storage: Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
