Product Description
IL-9 Antibody | XP-5200 | ProSci
Host: Rabbit
Reactivity: Human
Homology: N/A
Immunogen: Produced from sera of rabbits pre-immunized with highly pure (>98%) recombinant hIL-9 (human Interleukin-9) .
Research Area: Immunology, Chemokines & Cytokines, Antibody Pairs, Functional Assays
Tested Application: E, WB, Neut
Application: Neutralization:
To yield one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of hIL-9 (0.6 ng/mL) , a concentration of 0.15 - 0.025 μg/mL of this antibody is required.
ELISA:
To detect hIL-9 by direct ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of at least 0.5 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hIL-9.
Sandwich:
To detect hIL-9 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with our Biotinylated Anti-Human IL-9 (XP-5200Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hIL-9.
Western Blot:
To detect hIL-9 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant hIL-9 is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

BACKGROUND: IL-9 is a cytokine preferentially produced by T helper type 2 lymphocytes and active on various cell types such as T and B lymphocytes, mast cells and haemopoietic progenitors; but no effect of this cytokine has been reported so far on mononuclear phagocytes. IL-9 stimulates cell proliferation and prevents apoptosis. The IL-9 receptor (IL 9R) belongs to the haemopoietic receptor superfamily and its signal transduction involves mainly the (JAK/STAT) pathway. Some studies have implicated IL-9 as an important cytokine in a number of Th2 cytokine mediated pathologies, in particular asthma
