Bifeprunox shows positive effects in treating psychotic symptoms in schizophrenia. It is a third-generation antipsychotic agent which acts as a partial agonist at dopamine D2 receptors and is an efficacious agonist at serotonin 5-HT1A receptors. It shows little interaction at 5HT(2A/2C), muscarinic or histaminergic H1 receptors.
