Product Description
Fluvoxamine is an inhibitor of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) re-uptake. It inhibits the uptake of 5-hydroxytryptamine in guinea-pig blood platelets with a pI₅₀ (the negative logarithm of the molar concentration causing 50 % inhibition) of 6.4. It also has a high affinity at the sigma-1 receptor. It is used as an antidepressant and preliminary studies have shown that fluvoxamine is beneficial in reducing clinical deterioration in COVID-19.
