Clindamycin is a broad spectrum antibiotic targeting primarily gram positive and gram negative bacteria such as Clostridium and Bacteroides species. It inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding the 50S ribosomal subunit and interfering with tRNA activity during translation.
