Product Description
Human Transmembrane protein 163 (TMEM163) ELISA Kit | KTE60292 | Abbkine
Application: This Human Transmembrane protein 163 (TMEM163) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate TMEM163 in samples. An antibody specific for TMEM163 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyTMEM163 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for TMEM163 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of TMEM163 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: SV31, a novel synaptic vesicle membrane protein of 31 kDa with six putative transmembrane helices that, according to its membrane topology and phylogenetic relation, may function as a vesicular transporter. The vesicular allocation is demonstrated by subcellular fractionation, heterologous expression, immunocytochemical analysis of brain sections and immunoelectron microscopy. The protein is expressed in select brain regions and contained in subpopulations of nerve terminals that immunostain for the vesicular glutamate transporter 1 and the vesicular GABA transporter VGaT (vesicular amino acid transporter) and may attribute specific and as yet undiscovered functions to subsets of glutamatergic and GABAergic synapses.
