Background: LUT5 (beta-carotene hydroxylase) is a heme-containing cytochrome P450 involved in the biosynthesis of xanthophylls. Enzyme is specific for beta-ring hydroxylation of alpha- and beta-carotene and displays a low activity toward the epsilon-rings of alpha-carotene. Alternative names: Cytochrome P450 97A3, Protein LUTEIN DEFICIENT 5, chloroplastic.
Reconstitution: For reconstitution add 50 µl of sterile water
Storage: Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
