Product Description
The 5'-AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) is a heterotrimer composed of an alpha catalytic subunit (alpha 1 or alpha 2) and non-catalytic beat and gamma subunits. AMPK is an important energy-sensing enzyme that monitors cellular energy status. AMPK is activated in response to cellular metabolic stresses, regulating various key metabolic enzymes through phosphorylation to protect the cell from ATP depletion by switching off energy-dependent biosynthetic pathways.
