Product Description
Biovision | IL-16 (Human) ELISA Kit | E5062-100
Description: Interleukin-16 (IL-16) also known as lymphocyte chemoattractant factor, is a pro-inflammatory cytokine. It stimulates a migratory response in CD4+ lymphocytes, monocytes, and eosinophils. It primes CD4+ T-cells for IL-2 and IL-15 responsiveness and also induces T-lymphocyte expression of interleukin 2 receptor. IL-16 contributes to the regulatory process of CD4+ cell recruitment and activation at sites of inflammation in association with asthma and several autoimmune diseases. BioVision’s IL-16 (Human) ELISA Kit is used for the quantitative detection of IL-16 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. It is based on the principle of sandwich ELISA. The capture antibody is pre-coated on 96-well plates. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody are added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin is added and unbound conjugates are washed away with wash bfer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected using TMB-substrate. Finally, an acidic stop solution terminates the enzymatic reaction. The color developed is directly proportional to the amount of IL-16 in the sample.
