Product Description
Biovision | MMP-24 (Human) ELISA Kit | E5076-100
Description: Matrix metalloproteinase-24 (MMP-24) belongs to the family of matrix metalloproteinases. It is involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. MMP-24 mediates cleavage of N-cadherin (CDH2) and acts as a regulator of neuro-immune interactions and neural stem cell quiescence. It is involved in cell-cell interactions between nociceptive neurites and mast cells, possibly by mediating cleavage of CDH2, thereby acting as a mediator of peripheral thermal nociception and inflammatory hyperalgesia. MMP-24 may negatively regulate the aggressiveness of cancer cells under the stiff ECM environment during tumor progression. BioVision’s MMP-24 (Human) ELISA Kit is used for the quantitative detection of MMP-24 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. Iis based on the principle of sandwich ELISA. The capture antibody is pre-coated on 96-well plates. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody are added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin is added and unbound conjugates are washed away with wash buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected using TMB-substrate. Finally, an acidic stop solution terminates the enzymatic reaction. The color developed is directly proportional to the amount of MMP-24 in the sample.
