Product Description
Biovision | E5032 | LOX-1 (Human) ELISA Kit DataSheet
LOX-1 (Lectin-type oxidized LDL receptor 1) is also known as oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor1 (Ox-LDL receptor1). It is a receptor protein that mediates the recognition, internalization and degradation of oxidatively modified low density lipoprotein (oxLDL) by vascular endothelial cells. OxLDL is a marker of atherosclerosis that induces vascular endothelial cell activation and dysfunction, resulting in pro-inflammatory responses, pro-oxidative conditions and apoptosis. BioVision’s LOX-1 (Human) ELISA Kit is used for the quantitative detection of LOX-1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. It is based on the principle of sandwich ELISA. The capture antibody is pre-coated on 96-well plates. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody are added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin is added and unbound conjugates are washed away with wash buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected using TMB-substrate. Finally, an acidic stop solution terminates the enzymatic reaction. The color developed is directly proportional to the amount of LOX-1 in the sample.
