Product Description
TFB2M Antibody (C-term) [APR07195G] | Leading Biology
Product Category: Polyclonal Antibodies
Host: Rabbit
Species Reactivity: H
Specificity: This TFB2M antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 368-396 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human TFB2M.
Cellular Localisation: Mitochondrion.
Molecular Weight: 45349
Clone: Polyclonal
Gene Name: TFB2M (HGNC:18559)
Gene ID: 64216
Function: S-adenosyl-L-methionine-dependent rRNA methyltransferase which may methylate two specific adjacent adenosines in the loop of a conserved hairpin near the 3'-end of 12S mitochondrial rRNA (Probable) . Component of the mitochondrial transcription initiation complex, composed at least of TFB2M, TFAM and POLRMT that is required for basal transcription of mitochondrial DNA (PubMed:29149603, PubMed:12068295, PubMed:20410300, PubMed:15526033) . In this complex, TFAM recruits POLRMT to a specific promoter whereas TFB2M induces structural changes in POLRMT to enable promoter opening and trapping of the DNA non- template strand (PubMed:29149603, PubMed:15526033) . Stimulates transcription independently of the methyltransferase activity (PubMed:12897151) .
Summary: Tissue Location: Ubiquitously expressed.
Form: Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.
