Product Description
TRAIL Antibody | XP-5289 | ProSci
Host: Rabbit
Reactivity: Human
Homology: N/A
Immunogen: Produced from sera of rabbits pre-immunized with highly pure (>98%) recombinant hTRAIL/Apo2L (humanTRAIL/Apo2L) .
Research Area: Cancer, Apoptosis, Antibody Pairs, Functional Assays
Tested Application: E, WB, Neut
Application: Neutralization:
To yield one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of hTRAIL/Apo2L (30 ng/mL) , a concentration of 0.5 - 0.8 μg/mL of this antibody is required.
ELISA:
To detect hTRAIL/Apo2L by direct ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of at least 0.5 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hTRAIL/Apo2L.
Sandwich:
To detect hTRAIL/Apo2L by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with our Biotinylated Anti-Human TRAIL/Apo2L (XP-5289Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hTRAIL/Apo2L.
Western Blot:
To detect hTRAIL/Apo2L by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant hTRAIL/Apo2L is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

BACKGROUND: Apoptosis or programmed cell death is induced in cells by a group of death domain containing receptors. Binding of ligand to these receptors sends signals that activate members of the caspase family of proteases. The signals ultimately cause degradation of chromosomal DNA by activating DNase. TRAIL (TNF related apoptosis induced ligand) or Apo 2L initiates apoptosis of tumor cells by binding to either of its receptors, DR4 or DR5. These receptors consist of an extracellular TRAIL binding domain and a cytoplasmic "death domain".
