Bobcat339 is a potent cytosine-based TET (ten-eleven translocation methylcytosine dioxygenase) enzyme inhibitor with IC50 of 33 µM (TET1) and 73 µM (TET2). Bobcat339 does not inhibit the DNA methyltransferase, DNMT3a. Bobcat339 can reduce DNA 5-hydroxymethylcytosine abundance by inhibiting TET enzyme function in living cells and provide support for its utility as a viable pharmacological probe.
