MK2a inhibitor is a substrate-selective inhibitor of p38α MAPK that selectively inhibits p38α-dependent phosphorylation of mitogen-activated protein kinase-activated protein kinase 2 (MK2a) with a K(i)(app) of 330 nM. It does not inhibit the phosphorylation of ATF-2 and MBP. It inhibits proliferation of U87, A172, and U251 glioblastoma cells with EC₅₀ values of 0.6-1 μM by inhibition of tubulin polymerization and induction of apoptosis.
