Product Description
HEPES (1 M, pH 7.5) is a useful zwitterionic organic buffering agent commonly used in cell culture media. HEPES is a good buffering choice for many cell culture systems because it is membrane impermeable, has limited effect on biochemical reactions, is chemically and enzymatically stable, and has very low visible and UV light absorbance. The buffering range for HEPES is pH 6.8-8.2 and can be adjusted with KOH or NaOH. It is ready to use as supplied.
