Product Description
Tetrahydroxanthohumol (TXN) is a synthetic derivative of the flavonoid antioxidant Xanthohumol (Cat. No. 2258). TXN attenuates high-fat diet-induced hepatic steatosis by antagonizing PPARγ. A peroxisome proliferator activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) competitive binding assay shows that TXN binds to PPARγ with an IC50 similar to pioglitazone and 8–10 times stronger than oleate. TXN has the potential to prevent or treat the neuro-metabolic impairments associated with HFD-induced obesity and metabolic syndrome (MetS) without risk of liver injury and adverse estrogenic effects.
