Product Description
Serpin F1 (SERPINF1) is also known as Pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF), Cell proliferation-inducing gene 35 protein (PIG35). Serpin F1 belongs to the serpin family. Serpin F1 is expressed in quiescent cells. PEDF has a variety of functions including antiangiogenic, antitumorigenic, and neurotrophic properties. Endothelial cell migration is inhibited by SERPINF1/ PEDF. PEDF / SERPINF1 suppresses retinal neovascularization and endothelial cell proliferation. PEDF is also responsible for apoptosis of endothelial cells either through the p38 MAPK pathway or through the FAS/FASL pathway. PEDF also displays neurotrophic functions.

Physical form description: Lyophilized from 0.22 m filtered solution in 50 mM Tris, 150 mM NaCl, pH 7.4. Normally Mannitol or Trehalose are added as protectants before lyophilization.
Reconstitution Instructions: Spin tube in a microfuge for 15 sec to sediment lyophilized material. Carefully open the vial and add 100 L dHO. Vortex gently for 20 sec (avoid air bubbles). Let stand for 5 min. Carefully triturate the sample 10-times using a pipetman (avoid air bubbles). Spin briefly in microfuge to consolidate. Upon reconstitution with 100 L dH20, the final concentrations are as follows: 0.5 mg/mL PARP1 enzyme, 20 mM Tris, pH 8, 0.3 M NaCl, 0.1 mM EDTA, 1 mM DTT, plus lyophilization stabilizers.
