Product Description
This research-grade biosimilar is a humanized antibody that binds and inhibits CD147. CD147, also known as basigin, is a transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily which acts as a surface receptor involved in tumor development, malaria, and bacterial and viral infections. CD147 has recently been implicated in SARS-CoV-2, wherein the viral spike proteins bind to the receptor. The original humanized monoclonal antibody is currently being investigated as a combinatorial therapy in patients with pneumonia associated with SARS-CoV-2.
